Title: How noncommutative points disprove the Köthe Conjecture
Abstract:
Köthe's conjecture dates back to 1930, and was one of the oldest openvproblems in ring theory. It is very easy to formulate, but took more than 95 years to solve. In this talk, aimed at non-experts, I will explain what the conjecture says, why it resisted for almost a century, and how it was recently shown to be false. The route I will describe passes through non-commutative geometry, following joint work with Greenfeld and King.
Followed by an initial discussion on Quantum and GenAI.
