Michal WROCHNA
Biografie
Michał Wrochna earned his PhD at the University of Göttingen in 2013. He began his academic career as a research assistant in Göttingen, followed by a post-doctoral appointment at Université Paris-Saclay in Orsay and then a maître de conférences position in Grenoble starting in 2014. He has held a professor position at CY Cergy Paris Université since 2019 and after moving to Utrecht University in 2023, he joined the VUB as a part-time research professor in 2024.
Michał Wrochna has held visiting appointments at Stanford University, the IHES and the FRIAS at the University of Freiburg. His main area of research is mathematical physics and his main interests lie in the application of methods from partial differential equations, microlocal or asymptotic analysis and spectral theory, often in geometric contexts.
My principal area of research is mathematical physics (including Quantum Field Theory on curved spacetimes) and I am particularly interested in applications of methods from partial differential equations, microlocal or asymptotic analysis and spectral theory, often in relation with geometry.
