Tim Van der Linden
Biografie
Tim Van der Linden earned his PhD in Mathematics from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2006. He has held postdoctoral positions at Masaryk University (Brno), York University (Toronto), the University of Coimbra, and the Université catholique de Louvain. Since 2013, he has been a research professor at UCLouvain, supported by the Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique-FNRS. In 2024, he also joined the VUB as a part-time research professor.
Van der Linden is an editor of the journal Theory and Applications of Categories and a managing editor of Advanced Studies: Euro-Tbilisi Mathematical Journal. His research explores categorical aspects of non-abelian algebraic structures, with a particular focus on homological algebra and categorical Galois theory, and further interests in abstract homotopy theory and computational techniques.
